Is Skateboarding Harder Than Surfing
How much is surfing like snowboarding.
Is skateboarding harder than surfing. Why surfing is harder than skateboarding. They re both board based they both require exceptional balance and spatial awareness and they both require years of practice to perfect. You ve got that element of keeping the board underneath you keeping it going with the same momentum that you are. I like snowboarding best.
Also the jumps and tricks are harder on a wakeboard and the falls are harder than on water ski s even though you re going slower. I dont skate anymore because of a bum ankle but i stilll surf and snowboard. You have to paddle out beyond the break. Wakeboarding speed is also significantly lower than in water skiing.
Being a snowboarder i ve always been semi interested in the other board sports. But still it doesnt matter how you take the route its still harder to master then skateboarding. Cement is cold and unforgiving. Flipping and twisting a board that s not attached to your feet takes a lot of practice.
Skateboarding is the hardest. They dont have the talent to stand up like they did as babies. Here s a few other reasons it s harder. Once planing however wakeboards don t have a direction fin skis do.
Its very easy to hurt yourself skating. The way i describe surfing to people who snowboard ski is that surfing is like snowboarding only the mountain is moving. The most obvious difference is perhaps where it is done. The board is a lot smaller and you re not attached.
I do both and surfing is much harder. The main reason i say this is in skateboarding and snowboarding you typically have a level semi level surface skate boarding is done on concrete and typically this is very smooth whether going up a ramp or down some stairs. Skateboarding is very technical as well. Surfing is very hard to master depending on how you route your way in this sport.
For most riders turning and balancing on a wakeboard is more challenging. Skateboarding and surfing are two of the best board sports at least for those who have tried it in the past. Skating or surfing or snowboarding i used to do all three. My ranking system from hardest to least.
At first glance skateboarding and surfing look very similar. Styles and techniques can also vary. Surfing then skateboarding then snowboarding. Snowboarding has always come a lot easier.
I ve tried my hand at skateboarding and found that concrete definitely isn t as forgiving as snow and that i maybe should have started that when i was still young enough to bounce. While both will require a board they are different in more ways than one. Most snow skate ski inline peeps really just quit because they cant plug n play like they did.
